Hey, I’m Becca!
My full name is Rebecca Jean Lueck, but I go by Becca. I’m an adventure family photographer and educator based in Portland, Oregon.
I got my first paid photography job in 2010, but once I discovered lifestyle family photography, I really fell in love with it. I loved that sessions could be playful and relaxed, and that I could photograph families being themselves instead of trying to get everyone to pose perfectly and smile at the camera.
Creating family sessions that feel alive is my favorite part of what I do. I love giving families enough direction to feel comfortable, then leaving room for the weird, funny, sweet stuff that happens on its own. I want kids to be kids, parents to stop worrying about perfect behavior, and families to leave feeling like they had fun together.
I also teach other family photographers how to create that kind of experience for their own clients. After 16+ years of photographing families, I’ve learned a lot about what happens before and during a session that helps families relax and show their real personalities. I teach photographers how to prep their clients, use prompts and play without over-directing, and bring movement and storytelling into their work through both photography and family films.
I live in Oregon with my husband and two teens, and I’m always looking for beautiful places to explore with families, especially if there are mountains, wildflowers, or water involved. I love traveling with my family, scouting new photo locations, and curling up on the couch with a cheesy romance movie.
