Ongoing learning and support for family photographers

Monthly lessons, live calls, and community support inside the Family Photography Collective.

You probably started your photography business because you love photographing all the cute and sweet moments that happen during family sessions. You love the art, and at first, making some money doing it was an awesome bonus! But now you are realizing that its really hard to figure out all the things that come with running a business, and doing it alone is even harder.

Family photography asks a lot of you.

You’re thinking about light, connection, logistics, communication, and running a business all at the same time. Having a place to ask questions and get guidance as you go can make a big difference.

That’s the gap this collective is meant to fill.

Family sessions can be pretty unpredictable.

Kids are doing their thing, parents are trying their best not to stress, and you’re trying to keep things moving while still making something beautiful. Some sessions feel great (yay!). Others leave you replaying everything in your head on the drive home.

Outside of sessions, there’s the business side.

Marketing, writing captions, figuring out what to share, and how to talk about your work without sounding awkward or salesy. Fun stuff. Learning often happens in short bursts, then life starts life-ing and your momentum goes out the window.

And even though there’s no shortage of courses or tips out there, it’s hard to find a place where you can talk something through when you’re unsure. A space to think out loud with people who understand family photography.

When I first started, I loved photographing families, but I didn’t know how to build a sustainable business.

I struggled to book consistently and spent a lot of time figuring things out as I went. As my business grew, the challenge shifted to creating steadier income without burning out. That’s when I realized growth wasn’t about one big strategy, but regular learning, conversations, and adjusting as I went.

Some of the most helpful moments came from being in small group conversations where questions were talked through openly and everyone shared what they’d learned. I’ve seen how much progress happens when photographers have a place to keep showing up and asking questions alongside their work.

That’s the foundation of this collective.

Imagine waking up each day feeling excited about your photography business.

You've crafted an experience where parents trust you completely, kids can be their silly selves, and you’re there capturing those adorable moments beautifully.

Now, imagine having a reliable support system by your side.

You’re not just part of a group. You’re part of a community where people talk things through, share what’s working for them, and spark new ideas for each other.

Each month, you work through two focused lessons, each centered on one clear topic.

Session flow, light, editing, client communication, marketing, and all the business-y things that are so important to running a successful business.

And you're doing it with other family photographers who are learning the same things.

Over time, it becomes a place you come to when you’re stuck or just want to talk something through.

You share work, ask questions, and see how other photographers think through similar situations, which makes it easier to decide what to try next.

why an online community is so valuable for family photographers

How the Family Photography Collective works

The Family Photography Collective is a monthly membership created to support family photographers through ongoing lessons, live guidance, and community.

It’s designed for photographers who want to keep learning in a supportive, interactive space that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

Each month includes two new lessons, a behind-the-scenes clip from my sessions, a creative challenge, and a live group call.

Lessons are short and shared in the format that makes the most sense, sometimes video, sometimes audio, depending on the topic.

You’ll also have access to an active Facebook group where questions are welcome and member conversations help shape future lessons.

This is a space to keep learning, ask questions when you need to, and grow alongside other family photographers.

Get immediate access to the group and this month’s content. First live call: February 19.

What's included:

  • Two short, focused lessons each month (usually around 5–10 minutes) that tackle one specific topic at a time.

  • A live group Zoom call for questions, guidance, and conversation, designed to be collaborative and discussion-based, with space for members to share advice and experiences. Calls are typically held on a Thursday at 10 a.m. PST during the second half of the month and are always recorded.

  • An active Facebook group for sharing work, asking questions, and staying connected between lessons

  • Monthly creative challenges with small prizes to keep things fun and get you trying new ideas

  • A short monthly behind-the-scenes clip from my sessions showing prompts, problem-solving, and how I guide families. Also includes a voice note for further explanation.

  • A growing library of past lessons and resources inside a simple member portal

The Family Photography Collective is $319 for the year, with a $29 monthly payment option if you prefer to spread it out. When you look at it weekly, it’s roughly the cost of a coffee run.

This is something you return to, with ongoing learning, conversations, and support instead of a one-time purchase.

A few extra perks of being a member

Along with the added perks listed below, I’ll occasionally include extra bonuses or resources throughout the year when something feels helpful or timely for the group:

Ongoing Q&A and guidance

You can ask questions inside the Facebook group at any time. I respond there regularly, and sometimes use those questions to help shape future lessons.

Early access to new resources

When I’m developing new products or offers, I’ll often come to the group first to look for testers. Members may have the opportunity to try new resources for free in exchange for thoughtful feedback before they’re released.

Guest educators

Occasionally, monthly lessons will include guest educators, including family photographers and experts from other industries, who share how they approach their work and businesses.

30-Day Guarantee

I want you to feel good about joining. That’s why the Collective comes with a 30-day guarantee.

If you join and decide within the first month that it’s not the right fit for you, just reach out and you’ll get a full refund.

This membership is meant to be supportive and useful, and I want you to have the space to explore it without pressure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What if I don’t have much time?

A: I get that. The two monthly lessons are short and focused (about 5–20 minutes each), so they’re easy to fit into a busy schedule. Some lessons are video, and some are audio you can listen to while you’re driving, editing, or doing other things. Group calls are always recorded too, so you can catch up whenever it works for you.

Q: Who is this membership for?

A: This membership is for family photographers who want ongoing learning, live guidance, and a place to stay engaged with their work. It’s a good fit if you’re already photographing families and want consistent support, new ideas, advice, and space to ask questions as you grow.

If you’re looking for a one-time course or a quick fix, this probably isn’t the right fit.

Q: How do the monthly calls work?

A: There’s one live group call each month. They are typically held on a Thursday at 10 a.m. PST/1 p.m. EST, scheduled sometime during the second half of the month. Exact dates are shared in advance inside the group. If you can’t make it live, replays are always available.

Q: Is this membership a long-term commitment?

A: You can choose monthly or yearly billing when you join. Monthly memberships renew each month and can be canceled anytime. Yearly memberships renew annually and stay active year to year unless you cancel before your renewal date.

You’ll be able to choose the option that works best for you at checkout.

Q: What if I join later in the month?

A: That’s totally fine. You’ll get access to the current month’s content right away, plus the full library of past lessons. You can join the next live call when it comes around, and your billing date stays tied to the day you joined.

Q: Are there any additional costs?

A: Nope! Your membership covers everything included in the collective, like lessons, group calls, and community access. I may occasionally share new or separate offers, but those are always optional and not required to stay in the membership.

Q: How do I access the content?

A: As soon as you join, you’ll get access to a member portal where everything lives. That includes current and past lessons, resources, and the link to the Facebook group. You can log in anytime and move through the content at your own pace.

If you want a place to learn consistently, ask questions, and stay connected to your photography, you’ll feel at home inside the Family Photography Collective.
